Agree, but I think the inability to recruit an elite running back stemmed more from what appears to be a mistake from the outside at the beginning of his tenure when he chose not to hire a running back. I add the what appears to be part, because we do not know all the options available and it could very well have been in the short amount of time he had to throw together a staff when he first got here not having a runningbacks coach gave us the best staff he could have gotten from top to bottom. However, how many big time runningbacks do you see committ to schools without position coaches? With Graham here we should see the RB recruiting pick up. And to the last part, like I have said before I do feel like we got an elite QB last year in Peterman. But I'm just going to leave it alone at that, because we have gone around and around on circles on that topic before. Though I will say, don't get too caught up in his ranking. If you followed his recruiting closely, he was performing really well at camps and was about to really blow up on the recruiting circuit but committed to us and completely shut down his recruiting the minute he got an offer from us. Then he remained one of our most solid commits throughout the recruiting process. While this was good for us, it likely hurt his ranking.

I'm still waiting on you to name the Oklahoma State starter at RB for the last few seasons. And you can't look it up, either. They're getting exposure, right? I know that I can't name him; I have no idea who it is. But you were talking about how their running backs get all kinds of exposure last night, so...

I'm sure you know the starter at RB for the other Big 12 school though.

Mark Dodson
Rivals: #201 player in the nation, #3 All Purpose Back, 4 Star
247: Not Ranked Nationally, #44 running back, 3 star.

Aj Turman
247: #112 in the Nation, #12 RB, #16 in FL, 4 Star
Rivals: #133 in the Nation, #13 RB, 4 Star

Alvin Kamara
247: #65 in the nation, #6 RB, 4 Star
Rivals: 4 Star (did not have his junior highlights at the time of evaluating and many rival analyst have said he will get a bump come the next rivals ranking. Bama wants him bad as evident by the fact they sent him 101 letters one day)

Derrick Henry
247:#11 national, #1 athlete, 5 star
Rivals: #19 national, #1 athlete, 4 star
Henry committed to Georgia and Kamara is high on Georgia and Alabama, cool toward UT.

Derrick Henry

Alvin Kamara

Turman is warm toward Miami, FSU, and UT. Seeing as he is in Florida seems like they would have an inside shot at recuiting him. He's had 4 visits already with FSU and 1 with Miami, none with UT yet.

Henry committed to Georgia a long time ago, but is seriously reconsidering it. He visted three weeks ago, and is visiting again this week for the O&W game. Appears he is starting to take depth charts into account. He had this recently to say to VQ.

"I've enjoyed getting to know the Tennessee program," Henry said. "Tennessee has my attention and I really like their coaches. I have them in the hunt and I'm ready to check them out again this weekend."

"It will be good to watch the spring game," Henry said. "I want to see what it's like and see how the fans are at Tennessee. Everyone tells me that it's an awesome place. I'm looking forward to spending time with the coaches and hanging with the players."

Henry did not attend the Georgia spring game last weekend. Henry begins his trip to Knoxville on Thursday night.

Yes, Turman has not visited UT yet, but that is because the Florida schools are in his backyard and easier for him to visit (it is not easy to make the trip from orlando during the school year). He has continually said that he is really trying to get up here for a visit, and if at the very latest he will be up here this summer. Hinshaw has done very well recruiting Orlando (his playing days at UCF certainly help us there) and knows players currently on our team such as Pig Howard.

I wouldn't read too much into the Kamara thing on 247. He really has not given anything away to the media, so it is really just a guess at this point hence why rivals has him at medium interest for all teams. The most he has given away in interviews is that he has five teams that he likes. Him and Jason Croom are best friends, and MZTERRY (Jason's mom) has posted on here saying we definitely have a legitimate chance with him

Wa_Vol,

You continue to amaze me. Recruiting services are run for fans and aren't even looked at by coaches. There are a few recruiting service companies that coaches refer to for quick information but they aren't open to the general public.

Your Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas posts are pure comedy.

Why do you pretend to be a vol fan? Are you that bored? Memphis kids don't exactly grow up tn fans. Should we waste our time on a kid that doesn't want to come east or move on to the million other running backs available.

Yes, they are run for Fans, But Coaching Staffs Do use the data bases and videos.

remember NCAA just recently amended their rules to include limiting the schools use of pay scouting services like Rivals, Scout etc...

I know it to be 100% true. They may watch a video but they in NO WAY use the services as an evaluation tool.

again not true, there are lazy coaches who do use it.

Ask any Miami fan about Larry Coker. and if someone that large with a huge recruiting budget is doing it, just imagine how many lower budget schools' coaches do the same.
