| It's a long way to February with Ramsey, but I certainly don't like where we are right now with him. I hope that changes. |

| In-home visits will make a big difference with the in-state kids, and we are a long way from those. Plus, like a broken record, we have to have a good season. |

I saw that in an article as well. That could just as much be doing a friend a favor as it is recruiting for that school. |

I am so glad he and Hiestand are gone.

| you can be mad at Terry Joseph all you want but he can only coach his position according to the scheme that is run. and Im not defending him at all but that Entire 2011 Vols defense was a JOKE.
Wilcocks defense is a Joke. great vs WAC opponents. |

Wilcocks defense is a Joke. great vs WAC opponents. | Tennessee's defense was ranked #28 last year. While I don't think the aggressiveness to win games was present at all times I'm not sure I would classify it as a joke. Again I am by no means implying that I was satisfied with the 2011 defense.
I'll be interested to see what Wilcox does out at Washington. He never developed an SEC defense mentality. I'm excited to have Sal and the other coaches in here. I think the turnover was more refreshing than worrisome. I just hope they can create a "team". |

| Unit Rankings in college football is a Joke. Buffalo, Mid tenn, Montana and Kentucky are stat padders
that Vols defense was a disgrace to Volunteer defenses. and it wasnt because the kids werent trying.
it was 3 man rushes, bad down and distance calls, bad secondary calls, inability to get pressure on the QB at all times, Inability to create turnovers due to positioning and mostly the inability to adjust within the game
The best our defense did vs ranked opponents were UGA and South Carolina.
UGA misssed on 3 Bombs b/c the QB simply missed his target while we were stuck in the sdame defense Each time.
So. Carolina was playing with an incompetent QB and 2nd string RB. basically another stat padding game, and we still gave up Big run after big run when everyone in the stadium knew that was all they could do.
I expect More out of a Volunteer defense and I especially don't rely on rankings to determine if what Im watching week in and week out on the football field is good defense or a sieve. |
