Commitement: OPEN

ESPN Profile: Marcus Rios 2012 Football Recruiting News - ESPN

Was just selected to the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in Pasadena
-Can be seen January 3rd on CBS

40 time on ESPN is inaccurate, he runs a 4.5-4.6

I go to same school as him, and know for a fact that he could easily decommit from Boise. I will also be in attendance for this Sundays game when they take on Vista Del Lago QB Aaron Young who has the 2nd msot yards Passing in California.

But after some further consideration and thinking about his future, Rios decided to reopen his recruitment and continue to look at his options as an uncommitted prospect.

Boise State is still in the picture - and Rios could certainly end up there - but many other programs have offered and the 6-foot, 170-pound recruit wants to see what other schools are all about.
Quote:
Cosumnes Oaks coach Ryan Gomes said Rios' family situation was also a strong consideration in his decision to back off Boise State for the time being.

"I think the family situation with the closeness of his twin sister and his mom started playing a role in his decision a little bit," Gomes said. "He kind of wanted to make sure he was making the right decision and putting himself in the position where he'd be happiest and most successful."

Rios' twin sister will probably be a Division I track athlete and Gomes said the two have talked about going to the same college. Nebraska just offered and UCLA, Arizona State and about a dozen other schools are still involved so Rios wants to take his visits and figure it out from there.

"They had talked about going to school together and being twins they're really close so I think that is impacting him a little bit as he gets closer and closer to his decision," Gomes said

Same article states that he is pretty open at this point but has been focusing on his season and helping his team.

"Marcus is a phenomenal player and he is great young man. He has a terrific work ethic. He's young, he's only 16 years old, and so he's got a huge, huge upside.

"He has great feet, he's long. He's a 6-foot, 170-pound corner so he's pretty rangy for that position. He has 4.43 speed, so you name it, he's got it."

Additional offers could be arriving for Rios judging by the amount of contact and interest he is receiving.

"USC wants him to come down for an unofficial visit and they told him they would offer him, but he doesn't want to do that at this point.

"Oregon is on him, and Cal Head Coach Jeff Tedford was at our game two weeks ago to watch Marcus."
- Rivals. Quotes from his HS coach Ryan Gomes
