Who might get a red shirt?

I was thinking that if marlin lane wasnt 100% at the start of next year then he should get a red shirt. Watching his junior season video, I think he looks like a 5* player. But the thing that makes him look good in that video were his very quick cuts and vision. And with Poole have Sec experence and a great last year and neal holding his own for 3-10 plays a game we wont have to have him for next year and with Bray being a beast i see us throwing the ball more any way. But 1 extra year of rehab(with no major contact drills like Oklahomas or phyical Tuesdays). Would help his MCL and his understanding of the offense.

But who else do you guys think needs or might get a red shirt?

I have had two knee issues, an ACL and an MCL. The ACL took a full year to be back to playing like I did before. The MCL was so different, I walked out of surgery and 6 weeks later was better than new. Just sayin....

I feel for you man, I broke my knee summer before last and I can tell you, the mental part is much, much harder to overcome than the physical. Even now, I hesitate to do a hard cut on that knee. It takes some serious mental toughness to overcome the fear that you will hurt it again.

ACL takes less than a year now with modern science. A friend of mine did his ACL and MCL at once two years ago and he was back in 7 months. It depends on how dedicated you are to your rehab and the workouts to get your strength back. At least thats waht his doctor said.

Like I said, the mental part is typically the harder one to get over.

Exactly. But if he was producing like he was the second half of his Senior year... I'm sure Marlin will be fine.

Great topic to discuss right BEFORE these kids sign. Good positive thoughts and energy to throw out there right before these kids make their final decision. Maybe we should also post a list of who we think will be the biggest busts of the class.
