If you're thinking about the 2012 class 2 days before NSD 2011, you're hardcore.

I've heard great news on Williams, Harold, Bowles, and Taylor for the '12 class. Taylor and Williams are locks for a 5 star. Harold is one of the best athletes in the country, and Bowles will be highly sought after. Going to be a fun year.

Are you referring to Eli Harold? I thought he or his family said he would not be going to Tenn after the recruitment of Sage. Care to give details of what you heard about Eli? Thanks

Thanks for the thread, JimmyD.

Definite need at DE-
Freakish athleticism, good quickness, a little raw in technique. DE now could grow into a DT OR DE/DT hybrid.

Do your thing M Lane...

Scout---
"Williams is an excellent athlete as a big man. He plays inside and outside for Mainland's defensive line depending on the scheme. He is better than most players at his level of disengaging and dispatching blockers and he plays with excellent natural strength and leverage. Where he ends up on the line in college depends on how he continues to grow and the scheme he picks. He could grow into a tackle or be a big end in a 3-4" - Scott Kennedy.

In addition to Williams...
15 highly regarded DE's (in alphabetical not rated order), all but T Lathan have expressed interest and/or have an offer...

"Alabama, Florida, Miami, USF, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina have all offered me," Williams said. "I am not sure who else."

"I have been to Florida. I went to Miami and USF for Junior Days. I also went to Alabama for a camp during last summer," Williams said.

"I am not really sure at this point because I haven't been able to visit very many schools but so far I really like Florida and Alabama," Williams said.

Williams said he plans to visit Miami, Florida, and Florida State this spring, and it sounds like he may plan to stay in Florida for his college career. "I'm open to go to wherever, but most likely I'm going to stay in Florida or around Florida," he admitted.

He visited Miami, Florida, Alabama and USF in the spring.

"I'm supposed to be going to Florida State, Auburn, USC, Clemson and some more this summer," he said.

"I have a lot of interest in Auburn," he said. "I talked to the d-line coach (Mike Pelton) and he said he watched my film and really liked me. He offered me right after that. It felt great. I really like Auburn

Thought this was interesting:
Alabama: "They have really good coaches. I have a good relationship with their defensive line coach (Chris Rumph). I knew him from Clemson, from when Marlin (Lane) was committed there, and I had talked to him a few times. He is a real cool coach."
-Rivals

I know it's already been posted that Williams is good friends with Marlin Lane, but it seems like his only connection to Alabama was through Marlin Lane's relationship with Rumph. Maybe some bad blood will knock Alabama out of the picture and really give us a shot here.

Williams also mentioned he wants to stay in the Southeast. He wants a school that feels like home away from home and has a family-like atmosphere. He also wants a good education, and the chance to play early in, preferrably, a 4-3 defense. He claims no leader ATP.

"Right now I do not have a favorite school," Williams said. "I have seen FSU, Florida and Miami. And I obviously need to see more schools out there like USC, Auburn, Tennessee and Georgia. I lived out in California for six or seven years and I really want to camp this summer at Southern Cal."
