| Rover I'm looking for this class to produce that "rover" player that Wilcox loves in one of his best defensive sets at Boise, the 4-2-5. Basically, it's a safety that plays like a LB that makes it hard for a team to see if he is dropping back in coverage, coming up to play the run, or blitzing off the edge.
I thought Randolph fit this mold pretty well, but in seeing how Pat Martin seems to be that safety with LB skills in Shrine Bowl practice, it made me start to wonder who that player would be for Wilcox.
Any thoughts? |

Any thoughts? | That sounds like the position I mentioned that Pat Martin might play in certain situations in the future. It is a hybrid safety/linebacker that a number of schools (like USCe) use the name "spur back".
I think Pat or Randolph either one could be used like that.

| Right now, that player is Prentiss and Brewer. I think that's the reason Wilcox and Dooley gave them the go ahead to switch from CB to S or vice-a-versa. But the player from this class that I think would fill that position is Pat Martin, which mlsoft mentioned earlier.. |
