(7) Wooddale 33, Kirby 6: Junior running back Jovon Robinson rushed for 200 yards and scored four touchdowns to carry Wooddale (2-0, 1-0 in 15-AAA) to the road win. He also added an 82-yard kickoff return and tallied 290 all-purpose yards.

| Quote: Considering: Already has received a lot of interest, including a verbal offer from Alabama. Performance: Rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns and set up the game-winning score with a 35-yard punt return in a 29-22 win over Memphis Central. Also fumbled three times, losing two. Strengths: Robinson's feet and vision are elite. He makes sharp, reactionary cuts that display great instincts. If there is a hole to run through, Robinson can usually find it and when he gets to the second level he is even more dangerous because of his ability to make the first defender miss. Robinson is a physical back as well that is unfazed by the initial contact and can either bounce off the first hit or power through it. Weaknesses: Robinson lacks elite speed. He can get to the outside but has trouble outrunning defensive backs for the homerun. Robinson also needs to focus on ball security. He had three fumbles and lost two of them in the game, almost negating a terrific night. - B.S.

We are building depth at RB, but you can never have enough backs (I'm assuming UT will go for Kimbrow before Robinson, but who wouldn't want both?). |

| Bama offered based on his campus performance in Tuscaloosa. He never came to camp here.

| This kids a stud. He had about 170 yards against us last night on 23 carries I think. He's a really strong back and was hard to bring down (when we could takled him at all; we pretty much had to corral him). He ran over a few of us and gang tackling was really tthe only way to stop him (however, a few times we were all on him but he still didn't go down, so they blew the whistle). I probably had 2 solos on him (took out his legs) but also missed on him atleast 2 times (kid can move/juke/run over).
With all that said, hope he comes to UT! Posted via VolNation Mobile |
