He showed out against older and legit competition this weekend at the camp in Tuscaloosa.

Drae Bowles, 2012 wide receiver from Jackson (Christian), Tenn., kept turning heads with his performance. He is physically very impressive and already attracting attention from schools across the Southeast. He is right at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds. He ran great routes and possesses great speed. He is definitely a player to keep an eye in the coming months.

After his freshman season, MaxPreps named him to their Top100 for 2012. Remmber, all of this was written before he played a down of his sophmore season:

Drae Bowles, WR, Jackson Christian (Jackson, Tenn.)

The 6-3 Bowles is a threat to score any time he touches the ball. He racked up 467 receiving yards as a ninth grader for the Eagles. He also tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions with seven.

Bowles also took some handoffs and has the ability to return kicks. It would be surprising if Lane Kiffin, given his recent penchant for offering young recruits, doesn’t try to lure Bowles to Knoxville sometime soon.

Now we need to work to get that barbwire fence up around the border that we allegedly were building around Tennessee....so he don't end up a Gator or a Bammer:

Drae Bowles
Jackson (Tenn.) Christian | 2012
Wide Receiver | 6-3/190
Scout's Take: Bowles was very impressive and demonstrated why he is one of the top recruits in the South for the 2012 class. He has excellent size and speed. He excelled running his routes and does a great job catching the ball. He is a very talented athlete with big hands. Bowles was able to create space during one-on-one drills and did a great job tight roping when catching passes on out routes and getting vertical as he went down the sideline.

Good player on a below average team. Hope he does not get lost in the shuffle. His TD came late in the game against 2nd team defense. His coaches need to find ways to get the ball in his hands more!

Bowles will be playing against Southern Baptist Educational Center tonight. He should put up some good numbers but SBEC has a pretty good team.

Bowles had 7 catches for 146 yards and 2 Tds. One was on an 80 yard bomb. He also intercepted a ball and returned it for a 48 yard TD.

I wonder if he is former Brownsville and Arkansas star, Darryl Bowles's son?

He holds a Vol offer.

There are gonna be alot of big time prospects out of Memphis next year: Kimbrow, Cole, Robinson, Bowles, Hill, Still, etc.
