| Close friend of mine who was on the Citrus Bowl committee until 2007 called after the game last night on my drive home and said his buds on the committee are DYING for LSU to lose two(now one) more game and Tennessee to win out because they want nothing to do with the LSU in one night and out the next fan pack there...
That UCLA game looms BIG now as does Auburn if they beat OleMiss... |

| It is not out of the realm of possibility for LSU to lose at Ole Miss and Arkansas but realistically, they will probably finish 9-3. This bowl would give us the most pub and money if we made it so I am holding out hope. |

| How would they pick a 8-4 Tennessee over a 9-3 LSU? Doesn't make sense. LSU won't drop two down the stretch i wouldn't think.

I myself am a huge Tennessee Vols fan as I attended college up there, but I live down here in Southern Arkansas. Don't know if you all have seen any clips on Arkansas and Mallet, but they too have a pretty good team this year. It'll be a real fun game to watch. |

I could see LSU dropping that one. That is going to be a very tough game for LSU. |

If there is a leser team that they think will draw a bigger crowd. It happened to us the year we played Clemson(or maby Maryland) in the Peach Bowl I think. One of the FL bowl passed over us and took a lesser SEC school.

If LSU finishes at 9-3 and UT at 8-4, they could pick the Vols. But I doubt they would. After that, the Outback gets the top choice out of the East and Cotton out of the West. It's still possible we go to the Cotton, but if we were to win out, I think the Outback would take us, and thus the Cotton wouldn't have the opportunity. The Peach picks after the Outback & Cotton. |

| So does Cotton pick after both the Capital One and the Outback? I always thought Cotton was the "better" bowl and got the selection after the BCS.

As far as I know, Cotton gets first pick of a West team, and Outback gets first pick of an East team. They can select an opposite division team, only if the other bowl has already made their pick.

| I wish they would do away with bowl tie-ins with conferences and just pick the most attractive match-up. Get tired of the same ole BigTen-SEC games. I would love to see some Pac Ten and other teams in the mix to play our conference schools.

After the Citrus, Cotton has 1st preference from the West & Outback has 1st preference from the East. It depends who they want. If the next best teams, are let's say, UT at 8-4, Auburn at 7-5 & UGA at 7-5. Then Outback would get UT, b/c they have 1st preference in the East. Cotton can then take Auburn or UGA. It's up to them (but you'd assume they'd take Auburn). If however, the teams are Auburn 8-4, UT 7-5 & Arkansas 7-5. Cotton has 1st preference from the West, so they can take Auburn. Then Outback can choose either UT or Arkansas. |
