Is Hardesty Ok?

I wasn't able to watch or listen to the game last night, but I noticed that Hardesty only had 60 yards rushing. Did he get hurt/in trouble?

Or were they just saving him for next week?

Did I miss something?

He's fine. We just flat out bombed the Tigers with our aerial attack throughout the game.

If you listen to Kiffin's post game comments, he said they wanted to focus on the passing game because Memphis is ranked 105th against the run and there would be nothing to gain regarding needed improvement of our offense running against them.

That's fine - just checking...had a crazy busy day and saw the stats, which certainly begged the question. Figured everyone would be weeping and gnashing teeth on here if something had happened

haha we could have either let hardesty have 300 yards or JC, and we chose JC.. actually we could have let both have 300 if we left starters in the whole game hehe.

Why risk an injury with Hardesty against a team like Memphis. They did the smart thing and pulled him out after the game was easily in hand and he had gotten a few touches.

Considering how much we passed the whole game, we still ended up with 130+ in rushing without putting much of an emphasis there

Anyone else notice that this is not the first time CLK went against the "conventional wisdom" and caught Memphis (and us) off guard.

Doesn't it feel good to have a coaching staff that surprises you !

I loved the comment when CLK said they could have ran the ball and went in at halftime 17-7 but he really wanted to take it to them!!

Memphis completely sold out on stopping the run. They had 8 or 9 in the box every play except on 3rd and long. Hard to put a hat on a hat in that case. Even when JC was torching them downfield the Tigers stayed in their stop the run mindset.

Memphis chose to make JC beat them, and he did.

Pretty bad.

Kiffen said on his show this morning that he figured Memphis had spent the last two weeks working on defending the run so he went with the pass. Looks like it worked, lol

There was no need to use Hardesty and risk injury. Bryce got a lot of work and we all know what Crompton did through the air.
