Crompton for Heisman...no joke

Its a very long shot, but he is 4th in the nation with 21 tds behind Moore 30, Keenum 28 ,Russell Wilson of NC ST 24.Front runners like McCoy only has 17, Tebow has 20 total TD's and newcomer Mark Ingram has 11 total TD's. If he goes crazy these last 3 games, he should be invited to New York. Anyways the award is a joke

If he comes away with 1st team All SEC honors and is drafted, that in itself would be worth a movie like "The Blind Side." This is the stuff Hollywood eats up...real life "rags to riches" stories...And if JC keeps playing like this and can light it up at the Senior Bowl, I think he has a VERY realistic shot at going within the first 3 or 4 rds. CLK, CMK, CEO, CJ.Cregg and CJChaney all have deep NFL connections and will be promoting him, Hardesty, EB and Big Dan really hard. Their improved draft status helps the program's recruiting efforts. Especially if JC surprises everyone and gets drafted relatively high. Think of the message that sends to high school QB's.

Crompton won't get any Heisman consideration due to the rough start and our W-L record. That's just the reality of it. Only players on NC contending teams get love from Heisman voters. One way it would affect the voting though, would be that it makes Tebow look downright pedestrian as a QB. He's going to be viewed more like NFL teams see him...as a fullback who throws the ball some.

I agree that Crompton has not shot at Heisman. However, unfortunately, I disagree with his draftability, as I have stated elsewhere. I also think the only way that he could be all-SEC 1st team is if he throws for 400+ each game from here out with no more than 2 interceptions total. Trying to beat Tebow for an award is like catching a fart in the wind.

I think Mallett is probably most deserving of 1st Team SEC honors. Crompton should be in the discussion though, and if he finishes strong, will have a great case for 2nd Team...but tell that to the Tebow lovers.

As far as the heisman goes... get real.

I love what Crompton has done, i really have, but let's not forget 10 of td's passes are against memphis and western kentucy. you take the 4 out against UGAY and his stats are not that good. He's improved, but let's not get carried away.

Well...again, don't discount the guy yet. It's not like the other QB's haven't had their shot to pad their stats, as you say, against the cupcakes on their schedule. In fact, if you cherry pick only the games against tough competition, the other guys don't look so sporting either...not even Sir Tebow.

I've watched Mallet in a few games and I'd rather have JC the way he's playing now than Mallet...no joke

Take away the UCLA game and he is the front runner period! He is playing like a pro right now. Throwing laser right on the money and the WR's are catchin pretty much all of them. Just gotta say Cromp, sorry for wanting you tobe benched early season. You shut me up and I'm glad!! GO VOLS and yes, JC for Heisman!!!!

JC will not get Heisman or all-SEC consideration. The pro draft however is a different animal. Pro teams could not care less about fan base attitudes. They are looking for players who have the size and skill set they are looking for, and keep their mouth shut and continue to improve in spite of adversity. And who in all the country exemplifies that better than Jonathon Crompton? The last 3 or 4 games here could be huge for him. He is a feel good story isn't he?

Crompton will make an NFL roster next year. I see him going around where Ainge did in the draft and being a career long backqup.

He can improve his draft stock by finishing close to 30 TD passes.

Im just really glad he is doing well. He has took so much flack from the fans, media, and so on. He has stuck in there, and did not break. He has a real chance to be drafted in the NFL, im sure a team could use his arm, and he obviously can put up with a lot of flack..thats good for a NFL QB
