| I honestly wish he would go and coach somewhere and that we get to play him every couple years.. and i hope he does a hell of a job wherever he goes, it would make it that much better to watch an out of conference game in the years to come. |

| Did Griff really lift the title from a Jamie Lee Curtis/Lindsay Lohan movie for his blog? That's not good.

| "Kiffin scoffed at the severity of a letter of reprimand and inferred the league's officiating had favored Alabama and Florida."
You went to the Mike Slive school of interpretation. I'm pretty sure he was referring to a letter of apology not meaning anything, not a letter of reprimand like Slive seemed to think. |

| Could someone explain... why Tennessee fans hate a coach that won a national title?
Isn't it OK to respect Fulmer, even if most everyone really likes Kiffin?
I don't see Fulmer as any threat to Lane, and I certainly don't think Lane does either. |

I don't see Fulmer as any threat to Lane, and I certainly don't think Lane does either. | Because that same coach didn't realize that the game had passed him by, got complacent in recruiting, was overly loyal to assistants that weren't very good, and ran the program to an all time low by the time Mike Hamilton worked up the nerve to fire his ass. I loved Fulmer, but it was painfully clear that he should have been gone by the 05 season. He thought he was bigger than the program and was untouchable. He got lazy and let the program slip into mediocrity.

| I agree with Griff on this one(my god did I just say that?). Yes while coaching I was ready for a change too, but the man has been replaced and now and in years to come I think Vols need to appreciate all he has done for us. His winning % is still awesome even with the past few years of decline, and he owned Bama for a long time. ex-CPF will and should be remembered as a great vol. As will CLK after a decade we all hope.

PS: The feelings for Fulmer have nothing to do with Kiffin. Go back and read old threads from the past 5 years. |

| VolDad I don't care -- I just think it's pretty interesting/odd.
I wonder if FSU fans will rip Bobby Bowden once he leaves? Perhaps Virginia Tech fans will take shots at Frank Beamer?
If a coach leaves when he's on top, for a better job, fans say he didn't have loyalty.
If he leaves after a couple of bad seasons, he's accused of running a program into the ground.
If he leaves under the cloud of adversity, probations or personal problems, he's a disgrace.
And yet, I don't hear other former coaches getting trashed by their fans as much....
It's just kind of a weird deal from where I sit.... |

I don't see Fulmer as any threat to Lane, and I certainly don't think Lane does either. | It's like any situation where somebody gets fired. Everything gets blamed on the guy that's no longer around. |

I don't see Fulmer as any threat to Lane, and I certainly don't think Lane does either. | Just curious, let’s say that you won a Pulitzer in 1998. You then spent the next 10 years writing garbage and running the Knoxville Sentinel into the ground. When you are finally relieved of your duties do you think you deserve to be praised because of the Pulitzer in 1998 and the 10 years of garbage should be ignored?

...... | I think it odd that you use Bowden and Beamer as examples.
This Decade:
Bowden - 4 ACCC, 4 BCS Bowls
Beamer - 3 ACCC, 3 BCS Bowls
Fulmer - 0 SECC, 0 BCS Bowls |
