Why would that give you chills? Bobby Dodd is great in it's own right, but Neyland is 1000x better as far as the experience goes. GT needs to renovate in a big way...

I guess what makes BDS@GF so unique is that you can literally see where Atlanta has sprouted up around it. To think they started playing football there while the coals were still cooling from Sherman's march... it's just unique.
Clearly the playing field itself at BDS is no more/less historic than Neyland, but when you're in Neyland you really can't view anything outside the stadium. It's just different is all.
GT definitely does NOT need to expand at this point. The student body at GT is growing, but until recently the program has been boring. The program stunk from when Bobby Dodd retured until 1990. Then a few crappy years 1991-1994 really hurt the excitement the program should have had following the MNC in 1990. 55k is the right siz for GT at this point. If Paul Johnson keeps moving the program in the direction he is, Tech already has an upgrade place in plan - they can tear down the upper east stands, extend the lower east stands that were just replaced, and then add a new upper deck on the east side. The reason this was not done in the past is because this would require closing Techwood drive and they don't want to do that yet. The next expansion will get Tech up around 70,000, but right now they still have several thousand tickets available to see Wake tomorrow, and they're in the hunt for an MNC.
