| My whole family growing up always rooted for the Vols. We would gather at my grandmother's house and my father and uncles and aunts would all watch and cheer for UT. I have never known anything but loving orange and hating bama and florida. Since my father was always a football coach (middle and high school), we bonded over the Tennessee games. I still go watch games with dad, and there is no time I feel closer to him than when UT takes the field. In short, the Vols play an important role in my life and my relationship with my father....
Go Vols! |

| My wife was a UT grad; when I met her in grad school (1992), following the Vols was what we did. Have been huge fans ever since. |

| Raised to be a Vol. First time I really felt it for real was the Miracle in South Bend. Never turned back. Went to school there for a bit. Probably going back soon. My blood runneth orange. |

Tennessee Volunteers upset the #2 ranked Kentucky Wildcats.
The final play deserves special mention. UK appeared to intentionally foul Allan Houston with about 5-6 seconds remaining, as UT needed 3 points to tie the game. Houston hit his first free throw, but deliberately missed his second to allow for a UT recovery and tap-in to tie it. Houston put up a brick and after a couple of taps by both sides, Corey Allen ended up getting the ball and making a shot, during which he was fouled by Jamal Mashburn. He hit his free throw with 1.5 seconds remaining to give UT a 1 point lead. The Cats tried a length of the court pass which was picked off.
UK lost. and I was a Vol fan forever.

| I was born in Connecticut and absolutely hate UConn. Since UConn is a garbage athletic school with no legitimate football rivalries, I was forced to take a closer look at women's basketball since it's the only thing at which UConn succeeds (but, then again, being the world's only women's basketball school and not even being the best at it is rather sad). Accordingly, I ended up developing a love for all things Tennessee. |

| Born in and grew up in Knoxville. My dad was an alum. Went to school there; met my wife there; eventually went back to school there. I really don't feel like I ever had any choice at all in the matter. |
