| I think that there is truth on both sides of the argument. The reason that most people complain, including myself, after two poor performances is because of what we have been hearing.
In the past when the offense has underperformed it has BASICALLY been blamed on a shortage of talent. Now the offense is supposedly loaded with talent, and perception is that is still underachieving. This coupled with the fact that other OCs and HCs (Ky when Mumme was there, Louisville along with other examples have done more with arguably less talent due to scheme) leads the fire RS group believe that the Vols are in a pattern of mediocirity. We should be better than our 107th ranked offense in the country. When you have the Vols talent, and see what other coaches are doing with their talent it leads us to believe that replacing RS would make us NC contenders much more consitently, and attract much greater talent. |

[b]I understand what you are saying and I agree.* I was just saying that great coaches make good players great, or average players good.*
Craig Faulkner, Benji Shular, JJ Mckleskey, Corey Fleming, etc | Where is the young Shuler these days? Have not read nor heard a single word about him. Id met him in 97 super nice guy!

| I'm still holding my judgement regarding the offensive statistical rankings until the season is completed... or at least until there have been enough games to judge the statistics more accurately. Two games is not enough to judge. However, I will admit, the offensive output against Florida was pathetic.
Texas Tech is leading the nation in scoring but has played only Florida Int and Sam Houston State... neither considered defensive juggernauts.
Toledo is the 3rd best scoring team in the country.
In case your wondering, Tennessee is:
91 rushing offense 102.00
71 passing offense 210.50
89 total offense 312.50
92 pass efficiency
10 rushing defense 60.50
80 pass efficiency defense
28 total defense 291.00
16 scoring defense 13.00
72 pass defense 230.50
UCONN leads the nation in total defense and Texas Tech leads the nation in total offense.
It is very misleading because Tech has only played two I-AA schools and is averaging a whopping 711.5 yards of offense per game... while UConn's is based on whipping Buffalo and Liberty.

| You guys think these numbers are bad now. Wait till after we are finished playing LSU and Ga who are both as good or better then FL.
I dont think this year we pad those stats against Vandy, they are a competitive team this year. I'm starting to think Sanders is going to be asked to resign at the end of the season.
