Jereme Mayfield quote made me laugh.

Nice job, Jeremy. Between you and your stepmom, you've undone a decade of NASCAR's best attempts to distance itself from its redneck roots.

Consider the source, man. It is Fox Sports and Fox is a Rupert Murdoch organization. Rupert Murdoch is the Australian version of Al Davis - As nutty as a fruitcake.

I concur with your statement, good sir.

:eek:lol: If only we had chosen more of the same politics that republicans have practiced over the last half century and have directly contributed to or caused a lot of the problems we are facing now with the economy, environment, inability to compete with other countries in quality of education, dependency on oil, and a host of other problems.

I guess the multiple trillions that will eventually be spent on the war in Iraq won't contribute to any national debt. The Bush admin took the surplus that existed at the end of Clinton's term and have turned it into a debt over a war that was doubtfully necessary except to further boost profits of defense contractors and other companies that supply the military and oversee rebuilding projects.

All the while they were ignoring all of the experts who were telling them it was not going to succeed and would destabilize the area.

Yeah, real responsible government and McCain was looking like more of the same.

Education:
The problem with our education system is not just money. Chief among the problems with our education system is the socialistic aspect of it. Teachers, no matter how good or bad they are, receive near equal treatment. Argue this with me, if you like, but knowing many teachers in several different school systems, they would be in agreement with me. How conservatives are to blame for this, I would like to know. Add to this, parents aren't taking responsibilty for their children. Attribute this to lazier, more self-centered parents or parents who have to work too much to make ends meet, but it's likely a combination of both. Find ways to introduce competition and accountabilty, and you'll be making steps in the right direction.

You assume that to dislike Obama's policies means one fully supported Bush's or McCain's. That is a very wrong assumption. Dependency on oil is something we have been very short-sighted on. Unfortunately, our politicians are more concerned with lining their own pockets than doing what is right for the country. You're kidding yourself if you don't think that's the case on both sides of the aisle.

Health care reform is going to be a monumental f-up that will be a burden that not only we, but future generations will bear and be unable to get rid of.
