| What is your most gut wrenching loss? Either that you watched on television or witnessed live?
I'd have to say UT vs UF in 2001. The horrible tragedy of 9/11 postponed our game. The Vol-Train rolled into Gainesville and yall beat us. As bad as that game was for me, it was still a damn good game to watch, though. |

| Mine would be our game after that, the SEC championship game in '01. Anyone who believes Chavis' @$#& doesn't stink needs to watch that game again. The beginning of the end for us as a top team. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

| The 2007 SEC Championship game still hurts, because we were good enough to win. So many "what ifs" from that one. It was a long ride home. |

| 17-17 tie with Bama where David Palmer ties it up to end the game. It felt like a loss. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

| I don't remember the year but the sec championship I think 01 where we were going to go to the bcs championship game (at the rose bowl) if we won. LSU's starting qb (randle I think) and we were up ten at half. Instead of winning, Matt Mauk came in and ran us into the ground. It seemed he got ten yards every time he ran it. It turned my stomach inside out. Then we went to the peach bowl and lost to clemson. |

| The 2006 Bama game where Corey Anderson fumbles what would probably have been the winning TD and Bama goes on to win the game by a FG. |

| Nothing tops the 2001 Georgia game for the sheer feeling of having been punched in the gut. You make a great play to win the game at the last minute, only to choke it right back away at the even more last minute. The SECCG later that year was a worse and more disappointing loss, obviously, but you could see that building up inexorably for most of the game. Same thing with the Gaffney catch game -- you could see it coming. That UGA game was the most physically sick I've ever felt after watching a football game.
The only close competitor is the 1990 Alabama game, but I have to give the edge to that Georgia game because swapping last-minute touchdowns was more dramatic than that blocked-kick fiasco. To go from jumping around, screaming like an idiot to staring emptily into space within literally something like 130 seconds. I still feel sick about it. |

| Georgia game 2001. First loss I ever witnessed in Neyland.
Colquitt's punt, David Green drives UGA down the field against our dreaded prevent D and Vernon Davis catches for a TD with seconds remaining. The game didn't kill our sec or nat'l. title hopes though bc we gave away the '01 Sec championship to Matt Mauck and LSU. That was the longest damn drive back to Knoxville from ATL. Especially since my friend threw up in the back seat of my car. |

| Has to be the 01 championship game, apart from a few moments, it's been downhill from there.

I thought we had it in the 3rd quarter. . .
I have been to Atlanta with the Vols 3 times now. I have decided not to go again. |
