Worst for me:
96 Memphis St
01 LSU-
93 bama- no one in orange knew the deuce was getting the ball? Really?
00 UF- nice hands
some others:
90 bama and ND- should have won both
94 UF- just cause I had great seats and thought we had a shot |

Same thing with the Gaffney catch game -- you could see it coming. That UGA game was the most physically sick I've ever felt after watching a football game.
The only close competitor is the 1990 Alabama game, but I have to give the edge to that Georgia game because swapping last-minute touchdowns was more dramatic than that blocked-kick fiasco. To go from jumping around, screaming like an idiot to staring emptily into space within literally something like 130 seconds. I still feel sick about it. | I couldn't have said it better myself. |

| I love how we all think the 93 Bama game is a loss.
I wholly agree with the '01 games, both games I never imagined we'd lose. But to be different, these really hurt and made me mad:
- 94' Bama (what's his name false start on 1st n goal from 2, James Stewart fumbled on 1 yd line).
- 99' Florida, great opportunity to send a message on primetime tv in the swamp, worst loss ever to Fl. Jamal Lewis tripped.
- 90' tie with Auburn (felt like a loss, blew a 26-6 lead in 2nd half) Posted via VolNation Mobile |

2006 I just remembered the UF game 21-20. I almost puked in my office. I apparently had repressed the feelings for a while now.

| 2006 LSU made me sick to my stomach when Russel threw the game winning TD pass with just seconds remaining. |

It was '95 Florida, we were up 30-21 at the half. That game is not perceived the way it should be. We dominated first half, we were loose, having fun, letting it fly. We were up 30-14 and got a bit tight with 1 min to go in half, let Fla score. But we got 2nd half kickoff, marched right down field, and Maurice Staley dropped a TD pass. Then Jeff Hall missed a FG......everything changed after that.
Its a shame people ways say "Peyton always choked against Florida.". That was one of his best games. He was almost flawless, and the media didn't watch. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

| Not the worst game ever but how about last year's loss to Wisconsin? I felt pretty sick leaving after that game. |

| As far as the last 10 years go......
'08 UCLA: We dominated this game in the first half, at least on D....only to see us lose in OT due to inept qb play and horrible play calling. I would put the wyoming loss right after this, but the season was pretty much in the gutter at that point.
'07 SEC Title Game: To be in control for the majority of the game only to see Ainge throw a pick 6 at the end was just cruel to every vol fan in attendance.
'06 LSU: Russell throws a td pass with under 10 seconds left. Should have won this one if it wasn't for the fumble no-call. UT got screwed out of the W.
'06 Fla: Had control and momentum on our side the entire game only to see us blow it late in the 4th.
'05 Bama: Cory Anderson
'05 SC: South Carolina kicks a game-winning field goal to insure that the '05 season for ut was a complete disaster.
'05 Vandy: ugh......
'01 SEC Championship: All the way from a national title game and an sec title to a capital one bowl birth.
'01 Ga: This game was had one of the strangest endings i've ever seen. We go from the highest of highs with stephens touchdown catch to the lowest of lows with greene tossing a toucdown with a few seconds left. You could hear a pin drop.....
'00 Fla: The phantom catch game. From what I recall, we also whipped Florida up and down the field the entire game so that made it even more gut-wrenching. We were in their redzone countless times and had to kick a fg on almost every one of those possessions.

Even worse, after the 2000 game, I was tailgating with some drunk florida fans and they were laying on the trash talk. |

| Without question it was the 2001 SEC championship game against LSU! I felt like we were the better team, we put their starting QB Rohan Davey out of the game, and we let backup qb Matt Mauck come in and make our defense look like a bunch of special ed athletes.
The 2006 SEC championship was heart breaking as well because I really thought we out played LSU. We just made a couple of serious mistakes at the end that cost us.
The 1999 game against Florida flat out pissed me off! I kept screaming "can somebody PLEASE put a guy on #13 and block him for god's sake!?!" |
