I get the whole salary war thing with LSU and/or NO Saints. While I can understand Monte's price tag, I'm just saying that I'm a bit surprised at how much we are willing to pay a position coach (mind you..one I'm glad to have)
This whole coach in waiting started the increase in assistant salaries. Difference here is our HC doesn't have a 4m dollar contract or one that insures you make 1 dollar more than the highest paid HC in the SEC. To me this is the most unselfish act a HC could accomplish. This is a guy who assistant's will be willing to go the extra mile for.

That was one of the more impressive things about Kiffin that stood out to me. He seems genuinely devoted to building this team. He fought more for an assistant coach budget than his own salary. I also remember reading that there is a stipulation in his contract that any bonus he gets from coaching awards he receives will be distributed among his staff.

For what it's worth...Monte kiffin is overrated

--------------------------------------------------------

That's the kind of intelligence we're dealing with here. It's almost the equivalent of saying that Bill Walsh is overrated.

If Monte Kiffin is overrated then I guess Les Miles is the next Barry Switzer( at OU)

The fact that all of them think Lane Kiffin will suck, and the fact that most radio guys and News sentinel writers didn't like the hire, pretty much means that Kiffin will be a hall of famer.

I liked the one late last night were the LSU fan was congratulating us. On getting COACH O.Then goes into
An assault of the senses.

Stating that coach O could go and S*** The Kiffin's
D****.I was surprised how long it went back and forth.
It truly was a good look at what the board could quickly degrade into.

Thos quotes are pretty funny.....but you gotta admit, those same things would have been said here if Coach O had spurned us for LSU. I would expect those comments from any fan base. I do think the LSU fans need to realize they just had the worst year for a defending champ pretty much ever though.....and I dont care how many games Les Miles has won, I would not want him as HC at UT. Ever.
