| Can U imagine what they are going thru right now. The disappointment of knowing for sure they had the man they wanted, and at the last second ole' Lane and Monte come out of the clouds with a bag of money. O has gone from a legend, to a goat in his home state.
OH well, I guess we will take and give him a job since ya'll say he ain't no good.
Tell em' Jo Jo!

How many UT fans did you see over there trolling when we actually knew it to be official? That's because we actually have class.

| LSU does have a proven SEC DC - Chavis. I am happy about the yaw yaw hire. His recruiting ability is proven. I guess my worry is how long are we (VolNation people) willing to wait to be back on top? We gave Fulmer 6-7 years of teasing us after he won a N'atl Championship for UT. |

| Is the 650k rumor accurate?
If that is the case, I feel even better about the deal.
After it was rumored that LSU was willing to give 600k, I just knew it would take 800k to get him.

| I work with a LSU fan. Opening their mouth is enough reason to not give a damn what they say. Besides Arkansas and Bammers, LSU is next on the list for morons

I thought it would be higher.

| No. Not really surprising to me from what we have been hearing. I think we had an offer out there for around 500K and LSU upped their offer to 600K which would be hard for O to turn down. So O put it out there that he was considering taking the offer to see if UT would make a move to try and beat it. LSU could just as easily match the 650K offer if they thought it would do any good, but I think that the situation is more to his liking at UT and they know it. It really wasn't going to take a whole lot more money to get him to come to UT.

Before all of this year's hirings, I believe LSU's OC Gary Crowton was the highest paid assistant coach in the SEC at $400k. And at least he's a coordinator. Now O is going to get a 60% pay increase over the conference's previously highest paid coordinator (pre-Monte), and O is only a position coach.
So to answer your question...It does surprise me how much we are willing to pay a d-line coach, even if he is a fantastic recruiter. Don't get me wrong I'm excited to have him, but I'm also a little nervous about how much $$ UT is throwing at a coaching staff with mixed track records (except Monte) |

Let's be charitable enough to say congrats for the pounding they put on Tech last night. |
