| There is nothing in contract law that prevents us from talking to him and there is no buyout. TB can sue under a tort theory of intentional interference with contract. It will not fly but they could cause some litigation fees it is arguable i.e. it would atleast make it to MSJs that is motions for summary judgment. Gruden might be liable for any damages his loses caused that would all be too speculative and not really a worry. The UT clause talk just makes it cleaner it removes any headaches TB could cause in a court of law. There was not much they could do in the first place. The only issue is does he want the job if so we pay no buyout and it happens TB can chase there tail if they like it will not matter in the end.

| Just look at Bobby Patrino last year with the Falcons and Arkansas. There is no reason we couldn't already talk to Gruden. If both parties are interested than talks can emerge. Lets just hope he is interested! |

And the Falcon's knew nothing till it was over and Petrino was calling the Hogs.

| TB will not make the playoffs, watch and see. Gruden is not attached to TB and TB isn't attached to Gruden. As long as Glazer doesn't get screwed, I don't think he would contest a clean break with Gruden. TB is a good gig, but Gruden's welcome is almost worn out.
75% chance, Gruden to UT. |

| A bit lame for my first post but... Does anyone else find it somewhat amusing that two of the "top prospects" to take over from Phil both left Al Davis and the Raiders organization shaking their heads in disbelief? Here's to seeing Jon or Lane in Knoxville... |

| I want Gruden. But this may drag on to long for us.
It scares me that we could end up losing Kiffen waiting for an answer from Gruden. Even though I think Gruden would be the best possible hire for us how long can you wait?
I think if it is Gruden it could be the middle of Jan. before he would be named. That would make for a long couple months on the hill. |

He will get a good enough "feeling" out of Gruden before he lets Kiffen slip through his fingers.

In most cases, a coach will be in place by December if you are hiring another college coach. Urban Meyer was the coach of a BCS bound Utah team and Florida named him as coach in December, and he forgoed coaching the Utes in the Fiesta Bowl. |

| Is there anyway Gruden would pull a Petrino? I don't really see that happening. |
