Tomorrow's Long Term Implications ?

If we somehow win do you think that would turn our season around and Fulmer may be back next year?

Or if we lose that means we have been defeated by all our major rivals and things for Fulmer will look more grim.

But if we do win I think that could help us carry some much needed momentum throughout the rest of the season.

Personaly I think we will lose a tight game, which isn't to bad but a win would definately help Fulmer's cause.

I think we finish 6-6 !

Go Vols!

A win over bama would almost certianly let phil keep his job next year. This would be the improvement hamilton is looking for. This is by far the toughest game he will have to be in for the rest of the year. There are no powerhouses left on the schedule. SC,Wyoming,Vandy and Ky. I wont go so far as to say he will win all those games but it is certainly possible. In fact phil could lose a close one here then win all the other games. 7-5 with a bowl win would probably save him.

Emotions will run very high after the game either way. It should make for an interesting Sunday and the week following.

I think UT has to be in the process of making a change if one is to be made. I don't believe they can wait for one "last" chance for Fulmer. Clemson is already on the market, ESPN reported that Syracuse has hired a search firm for a new hire, UW has all but booted Willingham and whatever is going on down at Auburn. I am sure there are others that will come out at season's end.

If change is to be made, I would think that the powers making it would recognize the growing market for head coaching opportunities. I think this game is more for the media and fans to circle as Fulmer's last chance. I just don't see a radical change made without any previous research and assurances for UT. This program IS the athletic departments cash cow. They can't afford to be quick tempered and hasty.

OK, HERE'S A QUESTION FOR Y'ALL

Would you rather UT win tomorrow and Fulmer stays for another season or would you rather UT lose and Fulmer resigns at the end of the season.

Just play along, be honest.
pick one haha

I think a win over Bama would keep Fulmer here for one more year at least because I think that the team could go 3-1 in the last four games to get to 7-5 and they would be 5-1 in their last six. I think a blowout loss at home would be the death nell since you would have been beaten badly by your three biggest rivals, and the potential to go 2-2 or 1-3 in the last four would be there, which would mean 5-7 or 4-8. This is probably the most important game in Fulmer's career as far as job implications.

One signature win for the year shouldn't override the overwhelmingly persuasive evidence that fulmer can no longer sustain success against the top half of the SEC.

I hope we win, but one win better not be pointed out as a turnaround in the program.

I think we finish 7-6 including a win at the Music City Bowl.

Here's how I feel and how some of my friends feel as well. I truly want Tennessee to win and will always cheer for them. There is no way under any circumstances that I could root against UT. HOWEVER, the depression following a loss would be somewhat mitigated by the fact that this would probably lead to a coaching change.

Tomorrow is a win - win situation assuming a loss gets fulmer canned.

I think this game would carry a little MO going into the stretch run of our schedule.
The only way I see CPF keeping his job is by us getting into a bowl game.

Winning the bowl game. Just getting there won't save his job IMO.

I agree, if we can go 7-5 and then win the bowl game to get to eight wins, then he is secure.

I say keep Fulmer for 50 years if we can beat bama every year.
