What ever happened to 8 wins is enough from Hamilton...was that not officially what he said? Does Fulmer have to consistently not have 8 win seasons? Or, will just this season get him fired if he wins less than 8? How does that work?

I have heard more misunderstandings and misinterpretations of that contract clause than there ever should be.

The only thing the clause adds is an automatic raise at 8 wins which is very standard in the business. It just takes negotiations and quite honestly time wasted out of the equation. It in no way assures any job security for Fulmer.

well if I recall correctly. Fulmer gets a raise and an extension for 8 wins in the regular season. This may be wrong but its my understanding that the bowl game doesnt count towards this. Hamilton has not publicly came out with a number of wins/losses that will get fulmer fired. Hamilton has hinted that fulmer may be gone if a 6-6 season occurs. He did not say those words exactly. He did say that he expects the team to be better than .500
