| Speaking from the "enforcement" side of the issue, we generally subscribe to the following philosophies...
(1) "No harm, no foul": If you didn't break anything, and didn't draw blood, we will let you walk away, as long as you remember how to say "Yes, Sir / Ma'am".
(2) "Frontier Justice": If you showed your ass, and got it beat, and the pub owner doesn't want to press charges...we will call a squad for you, and then write you an appearance citation for "Public Nuisance". There's no need for us to humiliate you; someone beat us to it.
(3) "Pig Pile": Assuming no one has put you in your place before we arrive, we will be more than happy to perform that function. Hopefully, you are still drunk, mad, and bulletproof when the first officer arrives. After a brief, demonstrative lesson on "why you don't fight cops", we will follow you to the hospital to get your stitches (and Taser probes removed), and then escort you to jail. We go home at 3:00 am. You'll be eating instant grits for breakfast. Next time, listen to your conscience, and not your alcohol-laced ego.
Be safe out there. And be smart.
go vols. |
