| My son's 9 now. I have a book called Football as a War Game by Dr. Andy Kosar. It deals with the life of General Neyland. It has some great quotes from his wife, who according to the book would get quite rude when people said Bob's name wrong. Anyway, he love's learning about the history of the man he was named after and it gives us some good Father son time.

| Broke my son in when he was 5 years old watching the Sugar Vols Sugar Bowl victory repeatedly on an old Beta player. He is now 28 and has been a VOLS fan for 23 years, purchasing a space on VOL Quest and giving me his password...what a kid.
As to my daughter she came very close to going to UT, and although not a fanatic, we have a dent in our downstairs ceiling where she hit her head jumping from the couch when the VOLS scored the amazing James Banks TD catch against the hated gators at half time. This year for my birthday she presented me with a coffee cup with both grandkids decked out in UT gear and their private Smokeys which I bought each at their birth.
So teach them well, keep the faith, and you too will reap the rewards. I will tell you though I feel kind of like Dr. Frankenstein when I see my son suffer through this season, but misery loves company so.... |

My two daughters are still in training although my middle did name her cat smokey. | My son has the same Smokey. He is 2.5 yo, and he knows to push the paw everytime the VOLS score a touchdown. Sad to say he has not gotten to push the paw very often this year!....... |
