To be successful at UT he will have to change.

The defense played in the Big 12 does not compare to the SEC.

Leach will have to fly all over the country and recruit, which he's never done. I know he's at Tech so he takes the leftovers in the state of Texas.

He will have to find a defensive staff and be committed to that side of the ball.
There are very few people that have had to fly all over the country for recruits.

I'm really not a Leach apologist. I think the man has some definite risk. I also think that a few detractors on this board completely short change what he has done in the Big 12.

Texas Tech is a third tier program. What he has done in Lubbock may not be a miracle but it is darn close.

Surely the man is intelligent enough to build the right staff if he has the kind of resources that we have at UT.

I'm completely convinced that Lane Kiffin will be named the coach of the Vols anyway....

At a school who has the tradition around the level of a Miss St...And also remember that Texas and OU are continually power houses every year so a small school with hardly any football tradition beating those two is not a bad accomplishment.

I'll be taking a sabbatical in this event to recover from the dry heaves, maybe by then he'll have enough otjt to be ok.

I'll be honest... I just don't want to look at his ugly mug for the next few years.

Also check out the out of conference schedule Tech has played the last few years.

At most they have 2-3 tough games a year.

E. Washington, UMASS, Nevada and SMU don't exactly play great D.

I would have to say that is a great assumption of Kiffen. Agree 100%.

All kidding aside I see what you mean. This day and time these things matter like it or not. However in the spirit and likeness of Vince Lombardi gimme a ugly winner over a pretty 10-2 guy anyday...I mean anyday.

Agreed.

Truthfully this stuff is like the election, I have the guy I want but I'll support whoever becomes HC.

That's what most on here do not realize. I obviously want Kelly for my own reasons but when all is said and done I want the best for UT and I want SEC Titles. Whoever can do this will get my full support.
