I doubt the NFL comes calling, but wondering if they will is the least of my concerns. As a matter of fact, if you told me...
Coach A /Coach B /Coach C
Coach A will be a good coach.
Coach B will leave for a NFL head coaching stint in 4 years.
Coach C will be a bust.
I'll take 'Coach B' all day. |

But on further review, that's not necessarily the case. We all know his dad Monte as the Bucs Defensive Coordinator but he actually spent almost as much time in the college ranks (1966-1982) as he has in the NFL (1983-present). The argument can also be made that Lane would actually be more hesitant to jump to the NFL after the Raiders/Al Davis debacle. If Monte retires in the next 2-3 years as expected, that would also eliminate the lure of him leaving to work with his dad in the NFL. |

Fulmer was the best recruiter in the SEC, and maybe the nation back then. Somewhere along the line, he lost that knack. |

| I like what I hear about Kiffin I just hope we don;t paint ourselves in a corner with a crazy buy out clause like Weis. I hope the contract is performance based. Fans will also have to give him time to turn the ship. |
