The difference between the two is that Mandarich came into the NFL with some of the most atrocious fundamental flaws I've ever seen in a lineman. It was covered up for in the eyes of scouts and personnel directors by copious amounts of Winstrol, but the fact is that someone with that poor of footwork and inability to do the most basic things had no business being drafted.

Gallery has terrific footwork. The problem is that he's nowhere near quick enough to succeed. He'd be a very good to exceptional guard or center, but he simply doesn't move fast enough to be a tackle at a high level.

Mandarich started for 2 or 3 seasons at guard for the Colts.

Kiffin has been an OC at a school LOADED with talent. How can you compare the two? That's absolutely ludicrous.

I agree that Saban would be the better hire but the fact remains that he wasn't available. So then we get someone with many of the same qualities. Hate to burst your bubble but Cower is looking to coach the Cleveland Browns, not a college team. Even if we give him 8 mil, he still wouldn't have come because he's never coached in college and another NFL team will give him that much.
