If he does well enough here to be courted by other programs in 5 years, is that really a problem?? IMO, no.

A very legitimate argument. I can't buy into it though because that argument would have kept Mark Richt, Pete Carroll, Jim Tressel, Bob Stoops etc from getting their current jobs.

Exactly. It would be a breath of fresh air to have a coach good enough to be courted by other schools

Yep . . . At some point you have to trust the people that make the hiring decisions.

I listen to everyone so adamant about who they want for coach. If we were all so smart, we would be an AD. Unless one of you posters are Hammy, then we need to realize we are unqualified to bash each other about one coach over the other. Remember, Al Davis hired Kiffin, TT hired Leach, knowing he was quirky. Every individual has a bad trait and a good trait. The reality is we have no control over this decision. Sit back and enjoy the ride, hopefully it will be a successful one.

Cowher is the only ex NFL name I have heard that I like.

I would rather have Mendenhall, Kelly, or Peterson than Kiffin.
Peterson's name shouldnt even be mentioned in regards to this job.

Look at how well Art Shell did with the Raiders in his first stint. Look at how he did upon his return. Al Davis has gone insane and a reincarnated Bill Walsh wouldn't win more than 5 games coaching under him.

Keep the pic. I was just giving you a hard time. That's not my wife. If she was I would be posting pics of me and her everywhere.

Just to show off.
