Would you be happy if he coached here 7 years, won 3 SEC titles and stocked the cupboard for the next coach?
Well sure who wouldn't be?

Justin, any word on the date of the press conference? I would hope it would be the 1st to not only talk about it and let recruits know, but take some of the face time from Bama and UF away. It would also give them a chance as someone else said to call him and talk to him live during the championship game like they have done with other coaches before. What do you think?

Well I like the sound of one week better than two. But I can wait for it if it is true.

if Hamilton isn't going to wait out and at least talk to Kelly after Cincy's Hawaii game, the best day to do it would be the day after the SECCG. Or that Monday. Take all the hype from that game and steal it. If you do it on game day or the day before, the game will still trump it for the next week.

All that being said, as much as I've defended Hamilton on here, it would be a HUGE mistake not to at least talk to Kelly before making the decision.

I imagine there's already been some communication with Kelly.

I doubt that Hamilton has actually sat down and talked with him at length though. The search firm maybe, and some indirect Hamilton/Kelly stuff, but not a formal interview.

one of the talking heads opined that the days of a coach having a lifetime career at one school are dead. due to competition and money there will be leapfrogging by the better coaches, and the worst coaches will be retired.

he set a realistic expectation to keep any coach at one school at 10 years or less.

I believe many of you need to be reminded that Kiffin was not the OC at USC and has been linked to Reggie Bush scandal. Throw in Coach O and I can see a really fine mess here in about 5 years. Is that what you want?
