| I think this team can play for a National Championship and maybe win it. We have Florida and Bama at home and will be playing w/ a huge chip on our shoulder for those two especially. We are 12-0 all time following the Florida game (thank you Phil Steele) and we owe Auburn for the last 3 or 4 games. We realistically have the talent to go 11-1 or even higher. It's just a matter of staying healthy and focused each week. I really believe we go to a BCS game this year. As you can tell I am very high on this team. Or just high. |

| Maybe next year. I think we have the tools, but with a brand new offensive coordinator and a new starting quarter back, it might take some time to get everything clicking. |

| No, I don't think we are quite there yet. I think we're "good" but we are not elite like we were in the 90's. If our team was elite, we wouldn't be on here questioning whether or not we can win a national title. We would know we could. That's the difference.
I will say this, I really like this team's attitude! It seems to be about as unselfish a squad as I can remember in recent years. They all seem to be out there for the right reasons and they seem focused. I think we have the starting talent and the intangibles. I just think we lack the depth, plus a pretty brutal schedule to win it all this year. We will have to stay relatively injury free and have some luck on our side if we hope to compete for an SEC championship, let alone a national championship. |

| Yes, they are capable. I would view it as a small miracle, however. Go Vols! |

| Anything can happen in sports, I think we could win a National Title. I mean just look at Oklahoma in 2000, they werent even ranked at the start of the season. I think the thing that could make our team great would be the D line. If they do their part then we could be special because the secondary is gonna be scary good. |

| Based on Phil's record the last few years in big games, I would have to say no. Motivating a team by pointing out that no one respects you can only carry you so far. At some point innovative game plans and preparation have to take over, and that's where we have fallen short this century. Can Clawson reverse this trend? I can only hope. |

| | Senior Member | Yes, every year we have a team that has a chance. Our chance is moderate this year. If we were to go all the way this season, we'd have to have all the luck we had in 1998. If it weren't for a lot of luck 1998 would have never happened.
