| NCS poll - preseason rankings Not that preseason polls mean a whole lot (I know, I know, 2004 Auburn, but that is another discussion)
June 5, 2008 - The NCS Poll is the average of all major polls listed at the bottom of this page. If for example a team is ranked 6th then they are given 6 points for that poll. The different rankings are added and the total is divided by the number of polls, which yields the average. If a team did not make one of the polls they are given 30 points for the non-ranking. More polls will be added in as they are released.

| Seems no one knows what to expect from us, anything from 12-24, kind of a large gap...

| I like Clemson (living in Greenville SC and having a wife who is a fan will do that) but what is up with them being ranked SO high. They were close to going to ACC championship game last year, and have some good players coming back, but still. No disrepect to them at all, but Phil Steele has them 5th. They been recruiting like crazy lately too.
I actually like the position UT is in this year being ranked lower and being picked to finish 3rd-4th in the SEC east. No pressure on UT and UT plays MUCH better as the underdog. Would be nice to be ranked in the top say...12-15, just so we dont have as far to climb in the polls to ensure a BCS game. Like they say, just win the games and the rankings will come. |

However, I think it would be just as good to see them go 6-6, play some non-bcs school and then lose once again in their bowl game.

| I must have missed something but why is wisconsin ranked ahead of us in every poll. Didn't we just beat their rather unimpressive butts in the outhouse bowl? |

| Alot of these rankings are actually predictions of what the final polls will look like. It seems like UGA is the obvious number 1 but they are being ranked lower because people think their schedule is going to be too difficult. |
