This is the last season of these jerseys though. We got them as throwbacks to celebrate the team's 40th anniversary in 2006-07.

The third picture is one of our goalies' custom helmets, it is sick!

i do like the orange jerseys, but seeing all the black associated with UT sports furthers my opinion on no black jerseys in any sport.

Actually, you CAN get the jerseys...they are auctioning them off at the end of the season to raise money for new jerseys. I would suggest contacting the coach to buy them. All of his information is on icevols.com

vfb, I agree about the black and UT stuff...but they don't make white hockey pants.

The white jerseys were actually a mistake when we got them. The company used the wrong pattern...they were supposed to look like these (which are amazlingly close to the throwback football jerseys from a few years ago):

No, thats Will Keyes. He was a Washington Post All-DC goalie before coming to UT, and is already in the top 10 in all-time wins as a junior...and he's not even the #1 goalie.

When I was in school there was this hot french check that played goalie for the Cherokee's. And VFB I think the black outline really makes the orange stand out

Manon Rheaume. Yowza. She played 4 games with the Cherokees, spent some time on the Nashville Knights, and eventually headed to the Tampa Bay Lightning, as the first female player to appear in an NHL game.



My friends and I used to go to the Cherokees games and stay (on the same ticket) for the UT games that would follow - at a ridiculous hour. I remember one night after a terrible call of some sort, the 100 or so of us who'd stuck around launched into the typical chant that follows such a thing. At which point the announcer reminded us to please refrain from using profane language; this is a family atmosphere. One guy yelled back "It's 2 o'clock in the morning! The families are in bed!"

I actually bought a UT hockey jersey from the UC when I was in school in 93 or so. I still wear it. It's the black one from the 90-98 seasons. Black-jerseys-for-football-and-basketball controversy notwithstanding, I think it's really really cool. Past Jerseys
