Im no coach, but I can tell you at least with 25% accuracy what type of play we are fixing to run when we line up. I know, "exocution", but even if executed good, if the d has an idea what you are fixing to do they have the advantage. If you can tell the D what you are fixing to do, and you do it with success, you are good, we are not that good, yet.

It leads to the same point....habits certainly factor in as well.

Exactly. The point is that Fulmer needs to get his tendencies 100% away from the in game playcalling. We need for people to have to guess at least part of the time.

The problem there is that the tighter the situation is, the more predictable we become, exacerbating the entire mess.

You mean we have a 'habit' of running the same plays out of certain formations? Who'd have noticed that?

I could not agree more. It just seems like Tennessee has been running the same plays since I was a student. Im 37 by the way.

I think we change up the formations fine, we just run the same plays in the same situations and have for, oh, about 15 years.

I think it's longer than that. The bubble screen was hot in the 70's, for example.

Cam Cameron's name should be added to the list, I feel like he'll be available before the end of the week.

I tried to throw that one out there a month ago, but noboby here bit on it.

He must be considering his options, at the very least.

It's very easy for us to forget, as UT buffs, that it would be altogether unpalatable for many strong coaches with solid options to come and work for CPF.

Rex, what the hell are you talking about? You, nor anyone on any of these boards, know who CPF has or will interview. You have heard of 1 current interview for OC. That was Spence. CPF is being pretty tight lipped about this and nobody knows what is going on for sure. You guys act like little kids. None of you can control what is going to happen with this so just sit back and wait. Either way, even if it is some up-and-coming offensive guru, what makes you think that CPF will give him full control of the offense?

another thing, when has Phil shown himself capable of making great hires? for all of his obvious faults, Johnny could discern coaching talent and knew how to hire up and comers. Phil's scared to death that he's going to hire his replacement.

Well, if he's so bad, then there is no reason to talk about it. It's a given, so just take it for what it's worth and move on. Let's wait until next week to see just how bad it is.
