I don't think the Rowdy Reptiles were or are well known. UF does have a great student section, but its not like they're nationally known like the Cameron Crazies.

I don't see an issue with the name. It's the best choice we were given, and I'd never even heard of the Rowdy Reptiles before. I just thought it was those students that shake those borderline retarded shiny shakers. Incidentally, when Bruce first got here, my group of friends and I started attending the exhibition games when noone else was there and stoff up front waving our "rowdy rags" which were ripped up orange shirts. We didn't worry too much about a better name because when you're wasted you pretty much go with whatever. That said, when it came time to name the section, we were cool with it. Better than the oyster bed, or any other equally bad name.

NBD in a nutshell. If you don't want to be accused for copying, call them the Rocky Top Ruckus Raisers and be done with it.

UK has its eRUPPtion Zone, which is fairly but not particularly clever. In the end, its intent is to incite fans to yell and scream when the other team has the ball, and cause general audio havoc. What you name it isn't so important as what you do while occupying the seat.
