After all of camp, a two day rest for that throwing shoulder is a fine idea. Pinky or no.

John Parker Wilson said that he would cut off his pinky finger and play before he would let a jammed one keep him on the sidelines. You've gotta love his toughness.

so, a few days ago, everyone here was so confident UT would stomp Cal mercilessly by running the ball down their weak front seven's throat. ... but now you are worrying because our passing threat has taken a hit? it's funny to see the cocky "CAL HAS NO CHANCE" posters go into shock.

i've said all along that this would be a tough game. i still think ainge starts, but maybe a bunch of the posters here are just a bit more worried about the game than they are letting on.

Now that my nerves a settling down a little--I'm thinking it might be great to beat Cal with Crompton/Stevens. It would give the next few opponents several more things to prepare for.

Cal obviously has a chance, particularly if:

1) your leading back from last year is not in the state the game is being played in
2) your All-World punter has a strained quad
3) your UT record-setting senior quarterback is sidelined with a freaking pinky injury

Losing the orchestrator of your offense, regardless of how much you plan on running rather than passing, makes a tremendous impact on your team. (And..no..I'm not asserting we have lost him). I'm just saying that something like this makes you worry about losing that key player....you don't think that people would be wigging out about this before just about any game...I do...
