USM OTOH brings back a solid defense and one of the better RB's in the country. If UT can manage to beat these first 3 their strength of schedule should be very high. | |

| BTW, Cal isn't a bad team and not a sure win. But there is no question in my mind that I'd take USM over Cal if they played. | |

| Most troubling part of the story, IMO: kicking woes. You have to figure that at least a couple of games will be decided by a close enough margin that a missed FG or XP will mean an "L" for the only important stat.

| I'm glad to see our defense seems ready to rock; they will probably be Ainge's saving grace as he tries to get the offense to gel. I sure hope our running game picks up significantly, as I don't not have much faith in our passing at the moment.

Our kick coverage wasn't very good before the rule change. If things go bad, I expect more complaints about the kicking game than the offense. I don't know what worries me more, missed FG's and EP's or the lack of kick coverage. | |
