I don't see Foster and Houston as being very similar. Houston was really dangerous in open space. He had some great plays on screens and short passes. That's not really Foster's forte. I think we just misused Houston a lot. The way the Eagles used to use Brian Westbrook would have worked well for Cedric. I don't think he should be split out wide like Westbrook, but we should have found ways to get him the ball in space.

Coker wouldnt have probably ever been an every down back but he could break plays open. He holds what like 2 or 3 of the longest runs in UT history in his first year.

Can't compare him to gerald riggs jr.Foster did something in his first year also stayed out of fulmer's dog house.Riggs had more speed than foster. Can't really think of another back that foster reminds me of.Little man stewart maybe.

i think that coker reminded me of a half reggie bush although he wasnt as shifty and elusive, u would almost want ainge to hand the ball off just to see what coker would do and most of the time it would be a long gainer

It seems like we haven't had the big playmaker type back since Travis Stephens

-Cedric Houston was injury plagued his whole career and didn't reach his full potential.
-Gerald Riggs was all hype
-Jabari Davis was a completete and total bust for the most part
-And Arian Foster showed flashes of brilliance his freshman year, but was very dissapointing and inconsistent his sophomore year.

You hit the nail on the head about Coker though, he was anything but unimpressive last season, and may be the breakaway type back that UT has needed for the last 5 years.

The bottom line here, is if Foster, Hardesty, Creer, or somebody doesn't step up soon then we may be looking at a mediocre ground game yet again depending of when Coker comes back. It's time for someone to prove they can carry the load.

truthfully i think if u put any of those players (except jabari b/c all he could do was dive in the endzone) behind the line that lewis/henry/stephens ran behind i think that all of them could have been 1000+ yard rushers even though riggs and houston got it in 04
