Kentucky...to love...or to hate...

The University of Kentucky and the University of Tennessee have an interesting relationship. No other team has beaten the University of Kentucky in basketball more than Tennessee has throughout history, and UK and UT used to have a traditional border-rivalry game that was marked by a beer barrel. The two schools rest on the eastern sides of their respective states, and the two schools are separated by a 2.5 hour (1.5 if you’re Don racing between the two) drive.

Kentucky has traditionally played Tennessee very close in football without actually being able to get over the hump over the past 2 decades or so, and Tennessee, until recently, has had the same frustrating problem with Kentucky in basketball.

I would think that some of the Negavols would like the streak to end, just so Phil can get his walking papers after losing to Kentucky.

heh. They stopped playing for it about 9 years ago when this happened the day after UK whipped Vandy 55-17.

I remember when that happened, that was sad.

A win over Vandy doesnt even elevate a UT fans pulse...........usually.

Kentucky will have its best team in about ten years this year. Sadly for them though the defense still stinks and will give up plenty of big plays.

Still dont have enough talent to beat Tennessee! All streaks come to an end someday though, unfortunantly for Kentucky though if they dont end the streak this year they will have to wait for about another 20.

My high school used to use the saying, "Loved or hated, but never ignored." We used that because, well, we are a pretty great program. When you're a great program, your fans love you and most everyone else hates you. If you're not a great program... see the second half of the saying.
