Well, luckily for us you aren't the coach at UF.

I have really bad news for fans of college sports. If you removed all players who smoked pot, you would be left with very little product.

Personally, I could not care less who does smoke. It is not like it is a performance enhancer.

But it shows that they can't follow the rules. Unfortunately most players don't care to smoke it up, including here at UT...important players, too. I don't understand how anyone could be that stupid.

Then you must not know many people and go to a church that emphasizes perfection, of which there is none.

Smoking pot can lead to stupid things - such as firing a gun into the air during an argument..

And what's with the second and third chances? Pre-2005 that's what Fulmer gave and it earned us a bad rep that has still stuck with us through 05-07... it only will lead to bad things - period.

Funny thing is - some morons think UT has become even more "Thug U" because of all the recent players getting big suspensions or being kicked off from the team - But what it means is that our coach is atleast dealing with the problem... Unlike some people... heh who choose to give out 1/2 game suspensions or 1-game suspensions right before they play a cupcake team.

We should all shut up and be happy that the NCAA does not have mandatory sentences. In the age of the "Campus Policeman" out to make a name for him or herself, selective punishment will always rule.

Just keep in mind that these guys used to run stadium steps, but in the public eye things are much different.

Oops, I should have put and, not to. I meant to say that most players don't care about the rules, and just smoke it up all the time. My bad on the typo.

You don't have to be perfect to not smoke weed. I'm extremely far from perfect but I've never done drugs. It's actually pretty easy to avoid particpating in activities that could put you in jail

My point simply was that in my mind there is an enormous quantitative difference between possession of a tiny amount of marijuana versus firing an assault weapon during an altercation.

I personally feel that a one game suspension for a first offense marijuana possession is reasonable. Some would argue for 2 or 3 games and if that had been the punishment I would have also thought that reasonable.

I am unhappy with the one year suspension for firing a gun. I do think that is unreasonably light.

If he hit the guy or fired in his direction, there is no question but that Wilson would be in prison and not worrying about whether he can try to get on the team in '08. I think what he did is close enough that even if he avoids prison he still should not be in a Gator uniform.

Well-spoken, lg...well-spoken.

Dang...that's two Gator fans I can actually stand to be in the same zip code with.

Sign of the apocalypse, some would say.

Go Vols.

Isn't that a redundant statement?

Sorry...too good to pass up.

The sad thing is, if he does come back next year and is a monster, Gator fans will cheer him and brag about the success to which he contributes. Including me. I'll forget about it, too.

I think the Fulmer Cup should be awarded in conjunction with the Meyer Trophy. The Meyer Trophy going to the college football player who commmits the biggest infraction and receives the lightest punishment.
