Great article on Fitz. Seems like there will be a change from the donut-munching, barrel-a$$ed, pud-pulling sissies we've had the past couple of years. Can't wait to field some big mean S.O.B's again.

“Our whole weight room staff is unbelievable. Coach Fitzgerald is a high intensity guy. Every single morning he is always there. Even if you come in and kind of tired, within 15 minutes you are just jacked up and ready to lift. He knows exactly what he is talking about, everybody’s numbers have been going up.”

“Coach Fitz’s strength and conditioning program is designed to target all aspects of the game of football, more importantly the SEC,” Bowens said in Fulmer Hires Pruitt. “Coach Fitz designed his program to challenge you mentally and physically all in a competitive nature. His program pushes your mental and physical toughness needed to survive in the SEC.

Sounds like we are moving in the right direction.

I like how Eli Wolf's most significant struggle was his inability to put on weight...then Fitz shows up and he gains 20 pounds of muscle. Aight.

Empirical data which refutes the "deja vu" crowd, not conclusive BUT, a variable one can use going forward. We'll really not know until we see the product on the field. Talk is cheap, pan caking a few guys on the WVU team would be meaningful.

Agreed, but did anyone see that Wood-Anderson is 260 and giving defenders trouble in the passing game in 7 v 7..... That's nuts. He moves like a wide receiver at that size.... He is going to destroy some people.

We will know. If we get decimated by injuries in the first two weeks of practice, we will know.

We hear this every year.

If we hear this every year then that’s the problem , somebody’s been lying .. a lot . The thing about S&C coaches , if their results don’t show up in 1-2 years then you know it’s a lie .

Last year we cruised through fall camp pretty healthy. We thot we knew right up until the wheels began to come off beginning w GT and continuing each game.

Sounds like we are moving in the right direction.

Each time that Kiffin, Dooley or bUTch hired a new Strength & Conditioning coach, everyone thought we would do better.
This new hire has an NFL pedigree. This new hire ate lunch with Nick Saban once, so he must be an expert. etc. etc.

As someone posted two photo's on here a few months ago, that depicted the 1998 football team with t-shirts on and the 2017 football team with t-shirts on. There was a huge difference.
the 1998 team looked like Nebraska's team and the 2017 team photo looked like U.T. Chatt's team.
No wonder we have been pushed around on the field.
(1) teach the team how to practice (2) Weed out the one's who practice half heartedly or who don't buy in to the program and recruit over them. (3) Get players to buy in to Pruitts way of doing things. (4) Get stronger physical and mentally (5) recruit, recruit, recruit.

Hopefully the new strength and conditioning coach will do a good job with the Vols and help fix this injury plague that Tennessee has had the past two seasons. I've never seen a string of injuries like Tennessee has had the last few seasons before. Was it lack of conditioning that brought on all these injuries?

Helton better develop a q.b. real quickly to get the ball down field. We have many targets but need the O.L. to give the q.b. time and a q.b. that can throw the ball.

Jennings, Calloway, Palmer, Johnson, Wood-Anderson, Chandler etc.etc.
I see each one of them on an NFL team in the future.
If we can't get 300 yards passing each game and 150 yards rushing each game EXCEPT maybe against O'BAMA Crimson Tide, then something is seriously wrong

State run media. You have to listen to outside sources sometimes.

During fall practice Matt Stinchcomb said Vols would win 6 in 2017. At the time that made me upset. At the same time on another Vol board one insider said the Vols look like hot garbage. We didn’t want to believe it though.

You’d think that the paysite writers would have been more forthcoming a year ago, but they have to maintain their access to the team and often inflate the positive. That hasn’t changed.
