. I just read that the 85 scholarship limit apparently got him. He could have enrolled in January but chose to ask for release and go elsewhere.

This stinks. Was looking forward to seeing him in Orange. Must be a back story. Good luck sir!

Too good of a name to let go. Get rid of Dillon Bates or some other bust and keep him. Saban would do it.

How many wins does the team need to post to keep the "commitments" for next year? Does it matter? If things go south and players start complaining about playing time I can't imagine that would help recruiting. OTOH, even a losing record could be seen favorably by recruits if the program appears to be stable.

Anybody got the scoop?

His senior film was horrible, 247 dropped him to a 3-star. Once he had academic concerns, the staff moved on.

Once Tennessee took Brandon Kennedy as a grad transfer, they didn't have room for him under the 25 new counters in a calendar year rule (that's different than the 25 signee rule), so this was only a matter of time.

Dropping someone on the 85 doesn’t make room on the 25...not even possible for Saban.
