Top 10 FBS schools for home game attendance average in 2017:

Michigan (111,589)
Ohio State (107,495)
Penn State (106,707)
Alabama (101,722)
Texas A&M (98,802)
LSU (98,506)
Tennessee (95,779)
Texas (92,778)

Nebraska (89,798)

So, after going 4 and 8 last year, we still ended up in the top 10. Not bad at all.:good!:

That's about 6,700 missing Vols.

Which is exactly the average attendance at Vandy games.

Hey!

What do you 6,700 think you're doing?!?!?

Has there ever been 100 k there?

No. 73-74K is the record back in '86. It was pretty packed on that day and the crowd was verified by Guinness. If you can find pics of that day vs. any recent O&W game you'll see the announced attendance is significantly exaggerated due to some recent obsession with Spring game attendance figures.

Thats cool, thanks for the info...

Break...

So 0-8 in sec and top ten attendence, yet deserves to be called out for 60k attendence at a spring practice....champs of the off season.

And yet thw fans deserved to be call out my thw new coach for not attending spring practice...

Gotta hand it to you, being able to gripe about the subject in every thread, no matter what the thread, is a talent.

Not sure what it's good for but still a talent. A tip of the hat sir.

The lesson of the day seems to be that getting fans to show up and getting athletes and coaching professionals to show up are two unrelated issues, at least for Tennessee. Could one of the problems be Knoxville not working hard enough to sell itself to recruits, coaches, support staff, etc.?

This is why we settle for MAC level coaches or coordinators. Fans still come, money still flows.

Lol, not all. Sick of all the wins in meaningless categories thats all, and pointing out inconsistency. Same folks clamoring about this were also all about the fanbase being called out for skipping spring practice. Hopefully, we have some positives soon.
