Both Haslams and BOT have been bad. Not sure our next governor will be any better either. Candidates arent very promising.

Haslam family tried to destroy the football program, the athletic department, the administration, and the state. When Davenport stood up for the school, she became expendable. The entire family should be neutered to guarantee they won't breed more arrogant a$$holes.

The big problem with education is that it has become political indoctrination program mismanaged by politicians.

Speaking of indoctrination, a complete takeover of the board of trustees by whomever is the current sitting governor would guarantee that. The current structure guarantees seats to the minority party. The new plan puts in place what is just a group of the governor’s best friends.

Seems to be more emotion than facts in this thread. Unsure what's going on, & the rantings don't make things clearer. Anyone have a clue? :ermm:

Seems like the Haslam's are trying to bully their way to get complete control of the UT BoT. I'm surprised he hasn't been hit up on social media yet with tweets towards him about this and his family's bullying ways

The way the BOT has botched everything they’ve done since 2008, they should be replaced. Haslam should too. I can’t trust anyone who runs a company like Pilot or the Browns!

Make no mistake, Haslam Loves UT. He does, and he absolutely loves football! Its just that that does not mean he knows how to manage or have input. Love the money and the dedication, but he really should let people who know what they are doing, and get out of their way.. Just answer the phone when they call and dont make any calls himself. Ever

Well, if you read the first article, it basically states that the governor is trying to replace every member of the Board of Trustees, while also slimming it down to only 10 people. He is also removing certain restrictions, so he can personally appoint whomever he wishes.

To sum it up using the words of the article: "Bill Haslam is setting up a road map where he, or his proxy, can become University of Tennessee President in 2019 with zero serious opposition, because the Board of Trustees that makes the hire will be ten of his best friends."
