It happened with Spurrier

It will happen with Saban.

Saban will lose some games and his coaching HALO will disappear.

Though Bama fans say they wont mind a 7-8 win season, let's see how they react when they lose those 4-5 games. It won't be pretty.

Oh we definitely have our delusional fans that think we'll go undefeated and will be upset...but I think the majority of us expect a 7 or 8 win season and hope for a 9 or 10 if we catch a lot of breaks. We have a redshirt freshman OL starting at noseguard...that's how thin our DL is under Shula's recruiting. If we can land a UT-type recruiting class next year then I will "expect" a 10/11 win season for 2008.

Not so sure I would classify a 7-5 season as a failure, not with the bunch of players Saban has right now. IMHO Bama going 7-5 would be considered a very good coaching job by Saban.

That's like UGA fans last year claiming if Stafford started they would "be ok with 8 or so wins"

Then we actually lost the slew of games and everyone WENT NUTS.

Though Bama fans claim it will be fine to win 7-8 games, I dont think many ACTUALLY expect it.

What you don't know is that the team would have won 8 or 9 games in 2007 with Shula. They aren't the Bad News Bears out there.

Your right I don't know Shula would have won 8 or 9 in 2007 but I'm positive no Bama fan believes Shula would coach Bama to 8 or 9 win in 2007.
