Hmm, I read, "always underperformed," "huge project,", and someone complaining how he was simply no better than average at UT on different threads. We will miss him, especially vs. UAT, imo.

He is a huge project at the NFL level. So is Jamarcus Russell. That's not really an insult. About 13 months ago I predicted him to be a first round pick. He needs better coaching. He might end up being really good.

The game I really recall him underperforming was at Arkansas. I think he was at least adequate in other games.

I dont think he is a bad coach at all, but I'm not ready to crown him yet. And bammer should be better this year. They would have been better if Shula had stayed.

Also, Coach Saban has proved once again to be the best college football recruiter in history, as his 4 FIRST ROUND NFL draft picks from LSU showed.

In the UT game last year Darby averaged 1.8yds/carry...Jimmy Johns was averaging 12.3 until Shula sat him on the bench and played his favorite, Darby. We've got 4 RB's now better than Darby. Defense is where we'll be in trouble...DL and LB are thin and inexperienced.

Context bammer. They would have been better this year than last had Shula stayed. I'll type slower next time.

In other words, the team would have had a better record 07 over 06 under Shula.

Good point....Cut has made dramatic improvements in QB play and the offense in general. A lot hinges on how well your young WR's perform...and the young DB's as well.

Hightide, do you agree or not that had Shula stayed at bammer for another year that 07 would be a better year than 06?

There is no doubt that with the hiring of Saban that they wil be able to keep top draft picks in state (Jamarcus Russell, Sears and the Jason Allens). Spectacular sucess will be coming their way soon at the expense of the other league teams.

Just as the Roman general, Aetius's failure to finish off Attila the Hun at the Battle of Chalons eventually spelled doom to the Roman Empire, the NCAA failure to unlease the death penalaty on the rogue school, Alabama will prove disasterous to the other football programs in the SEC!
that guy has a lot of quit in him. what size do you want your New Bama T shirt in??? jeez.

I think CMS would have had a better year...maybe a 7 or 8 win season, which is about what I'm expecting under CNS's first year...with new schemes and staff.

i think a better question would be had MS beaten Auburn, would anyone have been crying about him as a coach?
