Berry has a 3.7 GPA and is in NHS. He took honors classes. That's how I know he's smarter.

I'm very impressed with Berry's potential. Even with all that, I still don't see how he's going to be an upgrade over senior Jon Wade in his freshman year.

I met (not sure if you can really call it that) Berry a couple of months ago when he was in town to pick up a Player of the Year Award. I only talked to him for about 45 seconds and I don't know how smart he is, but my impression was that he came off as being a lot more articulate than the average 18 year old.

Then maybe at this point in time Berry might be faster than Wade. Maybe that's why Wade quit track.

Wade still had one of the fastest times at the combine. He quit track because he knew he could make a lot of money in the NFL if he spent more time focusing on football.

You're probably right, but don't be surprised if Berry turns out to be the next Dale Carter.

yeah i know and i'm already a fan

on a side note doesn't this look like one of the fastest UT teams ever?

Berry, O'neal, Martin, Donald, and Vinson. If those guys are play significantly which they likely will, thats the fastest group of freshmen ever.

It is. You're making him out to be a football god. Common sense should dictate that no true freshman just steps in and plays as great as a 2 year starter.

I expect Berry to do good things here, but he could just as well be a bust. Let him play a few games before you annoint him the next great shutdown corner

A rivals timed 40 is about as accurate as a blind sniper.

Im not saying Berry wont ever be better or as good Wade, all im saying is that his first year, he will not be able to match Wades stats of last year...
