Likes injury status.
Should play young talent more over experience.Didn't do enuf of this last year.
Should beat Tech but will be close game.
Shamburger, Jackson, Ignont, Chandler, Palmer all good.
Must be better at stopping the run.
Thinks offensive tempo will slow some this year.
Won't score as many points this year.
Significant improvement on defense.
Really likes Hoke and Warren.
Tougher better aligned secondary.
Martin has had excellent fall camp.
Warrior can be exceptional.
More talented on D everywhere except DE.
DKJ may be all conference.

375 carries from last year must be replaced on offense.
Kelly not as good at pass catching as Kamara but ok.
Will mostly be used inside the tackle running.
CFA prob not 2nd team. Will be Chandler or Jordan.
JJ will get most balls thrown his way.
Only 5-6 rotation at WR.
Byrd and Calloway can be difference makers.
Only one quality TE. Ethan should see more passes.
Oline still strength of team.
Kendrick and Thomas prob won't start/shows depth of position.
Jashon at center is good move.

Daniel great weapon. Thinks he's best punter in country.
Thinks Medley much better than most do. Consistent from 40 yards in.
Good coverage teams.
Expects more zone than man coverage from secondary.
DBs will play more off ball...6-7 yards.
Less inside pressure from LBs.
Fewer sacks from dline but better tackling and run containment.
Hasn't seen enuf from QBs to know all of strengths.
But, expects QD to start against Tech. QD very strong arm.

Ended with tribute to Frank Broyles.

I think Coach Warren is going end up having the biggest impact on the team. The secondary is going to be much improved from last year, at least I hope

A person who attended Wednesday's scrimmage said the defense did look a lot better. Unfortunately, he also said the offensive line still did not look great. Which would worry me without Dobbs breaking away ability.

But I also want to make clear it was one scrimmage, that does not mean they're not going to come out and play very well by the first game. Even possible if our defense is doing that well, that's part of the reason the ol didn't look great.

Ugh, the offensive line being the strength of this team really scares me a lot! They weren't physicality tough last season and their play was extremely streaky. I hope they are more consistent at blocking this season because if they're not the Vols could be staring at a 6-6 season if they can't block consistently.

I mean when that's the bar you set, pretty much every D1 kicker in the country is going to be "much better than most think". If you can't hit from <40 at a near 100% rate, you don't belong on a college football field.

The fact that Medley can only be relied on if we get the ball to the 22 yard line or further is awful. What a bizarre statement by Matthews.

Was just about to submit this, but saw yours.

I know it's been discussed, but I still just can't wrap my head around "thinks Medley is better than most do, he's consistent from 40 yrds. In".

Is it that hard to find a better one?

Like the comments but disagree on two points. We will score a lot of points this year, there will just be more passing and less running td's. We will have a lot of sacks, but they will just be more spread out across the line, de's, and lb's.

I don't joke around.

Then you are really misinformed, a player like Barnett only comes around every generation, it's extremely unlikely than UT will find a player as good or better than him this season. UT has talent at DE but nothing like last season.

He said Martin has made as much or more improvement than anyone on team.
Also, feels ok with Moseley.
He did not mention Wiggins which I found interesting.

Becoming less and less so. :boredom:
