I've searched and have yet to see a thread related to coach speak and/or cliches specifically. Some of you guys may be older than myself and may have heard more. To me, some are good ones and some are funny while some are aggravating.

I would have to say the one I like the most is

Attack! Attack! Attack! By Coach Johnny Majors

One of the most aggravating ones to me is

Gonna work like heck! Coach Phil Fulmer

With all of the Butchisms and this being the off season what say ye Volnation? What are the cliches and coach speak from the years ya'll can recall?

This'll date me, but here goes:

"Winning isn't everything. It's the only thing."
Ucla football coach Red Sanders, circa 1950.

"If you want to crown them, then crown their ass! But, they are who we thought they were, and we let them off the hook!"

Not really a cliche or coach speak, but it is my all-time favorite coaching rant.

Close second: "You play to win the game...HELLO!"

Although debatable as to whether this was actually said by John McKay:

Media: “What did you think of your team’s execution, Coach?”

McKay: “I’m in favor of it.”

Had this as a quote on my calendar last week:

"We don't take what the defense gives us; we take whatever the hell we want!" - Al Davis

My old high school coach still has my favorite "We got em by the nads boys, now you gotta twist em!"
