Bill Battle steps down at Bama

And he already has a replacement.....WTF UT?

Wow. Bama hires an AD before the job officially opens and Tennessee has been looking six months.

Sums it up pretty good. And, if recent reports are accurate, we may still be 3-4 months away from a hire, even though the best candidate is already in our University system an hour and a half away from campus.

Sometimes I feel UT is being run by idiots.

KBVol, you asked a while back about LVBBall, and I tried to answer your questions. It's not looking good; the concerns we discussed may come to fruition. Hope we get a good AD out of all this.

Battle has been ill awhile but not any longer than when Hart was sent packing. Just another example of gross how incompetence at UT.

The best candidate was the guy Bama just hired. We could've had him 6 months ago.

We're going to have a 20 game losing streak to them. Book it.

not 1 UT grad is smart enough to work for the university? we suck so hard because booger eatin Gator and bama dave worked hard to remove the Lady from our womens teams and did nothing to help anyone. Who in the hell is in charge of these hires? now our new chancellor is from where? not TN

Not really this had to be in the works behind the scenes because Byrne turned down Texas and Florida

Well, technically we still have an ad, he just announced a pending retirement publicly.

Byrne was on most of our AD hot boards. I swear, UT just cannot get out of its own way for anything.

We're either cheap or incompetent or both..."cheap" in terms of do what you have to do in order to get the right guy. Wonder if it's not already done, but UT doesn't want to double dip on AD compensation in 2017. Below is published payout for Hart's contract not being extended...

Hart’s contract was set to expire Sept. 20, 2018. Tennessee is giving Hart a retirement payment of $645,454, representing 75 percent of the aggregate base salary he would have earned between July 1 and the contract expiration date.
